DUAS MARIOLA is a production company located in Rio de Janeiro formed in 2006 by six filmmakers awarded at national and international festivals. It aims to become a small hub of cinematographic realization open to collaborating with other directors and producers in search of creative alternatives to the model of audiovisual production in Brazil, as well as other proposals based on the same irrevocable common ground: enthusiasm for films and cinema.
In the last years it’s been dedicated to the production of cinematographic shows and filmmaking. It has produced and coproduced some feature films with great international repercussion, such as: “Eye of the Storm”, a co-production with VideoFilmes, directed by Eduardo Valente, with its debut in the Official Selection of the Festival de Cannes 2009, “The Escape of the Monkey Woman”, directed by Felipe Bragança and Marina Meliande, premiered at the 2009 Locarno Festival; “The Joy” directed by Felipe Bragança and Marina Meliande, premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival; “Neverquiet – Film of Wonders”, a film directed collectively, premiered at the 2011 Rotterdam Festival. All the mentioned films had large participation in relevant Brazilian Festivals and were distributed in commercial rooms as well.
In addition to the feature films, Duas Mariola also produced about other 10 short films presented in festivals like CANNES, VENEZA and OBERHAUSEN, among others.
DUAS MARIOLA also intends to contribute daily to the greater visibility of Brazilian audiovisual, as well as the diversification of the country cinephile universe and, therefore, also dedicated to performing shows, festivals and cycles of discussions on cinema and audiovisual.
